In our minds, the first and best draw for finding the Coastal Delaware home of your dreams is the fact that you will get to live in a home in Coastal Delaware. Given the natural beauty of the area, we're not sure any more incentive is needed. Some events coming up in May, however, have caught our eye, and they might just provide a little incentive to make the move.
Lewes is a beautiful little town on the DelMarVa Peninsula and they proudly bear the motto "The First Town in The First State." The picturesque quality of Lewes makes for a great visit (or perfect home) any time of the year, but be sure to drop by on May 4th for the Lewes British Motorcar Show. There are plenty of reasons for living in the Rehoboth Beach area, great communities, scenery and the beautiful ocean to name a few. There are also some wonderful annual events to look forward to:
The City of Rehoboth Beach began its history in the late 19th Century when in 1872, a religious group purchased 414 acres for the purpose of a Beach Camp meeting grounds. When the founders purchased the land, they also set up a boardwalk, hotel, tent houses and a post office. The official name became “Rehoboth Beach Association” in 1879. Soon after, the original activities of the religious group were discontinued, but the community that had formed around the camp thrived.
Summer vacationers should book vacation rentals in Rehoboth Beach early this year due to Superstorm Sandy’s devastation to the Jersey Shore. Carol Everhart, president and CEO of the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce reported a drastic increase in reservations for summer vacation rentals this year in an interview with WBOC TV16.
As great as February has been living in Coastal Delaware, we have to admit that we are looking forward to March. Not that there's anything wrong with February, but rather that March 1st is a bit of a big day on our calendars.Â
